FIRST TIME CUSTOMER? ORDER OUR SIZING SWATCHES

Our system relies on your skills and attention to detail, so we trust you to adhere to our guidelines.
ABOUT THE NAIL EXTENSION SYSTEM

Our hard gel nail extension system has everything you need to prep, apply, and remove the nail extensions, as well as reuse them. Each component of our system is designed to work seamlessly together for optimal results.

The Base Coat is incredibly versatile and its application determines how long your nail extensions will last. It fully air dries, just like a regular nail polish.

The Bonder is our standout product, air-drying with a gel-like consistency, it's non-toxic, and provides a reliable hold.

The Debonder is a fast-acting, non-toxic, acetone-free remover. When used as directed, it takes less than 1 minute to remove one nail extension.

The Deresiduer is specifically designed to efficiently eliminate any residue left by the Bonder on the back of the extensions, making them ready for reuse.

The nail extensions are handmade with hard gels. They are designed with reusability in mind. However, our toenail extensions are not reusable due to their specific structure.

Each set of our nail extensions is handmade in the USA with top-quality professional products and comes with complimentary disposable tools designed for easy application, removal, and reapplication of the nails. New customers will automatically receive the Bonder, Debonder, and Base Coat free of charge with their initial order.

The packaging is strategically designed and produced in the USA by us.

As for the nail art, we have a variety of options available on our website that can be purchased as is or customized to your liking. If you prefer to create your own unique nail art, please visit our custom nail art page.

UNDERSTANDING LENGTHS AND SHAPES

The lengths of our nail extensions are tailored to fit your natural nail beds perfectly. Regardless of whether your nail beds are short or long, you can choose the length that appeals to you the most.

For example, our extra short length extends just 3 to 4mm past the tips of your fingers. You can use our sizing swatches to help you find the length that aligns with your personal style and daily activities.

If you're trying nail extensions for the first time, we highly suggest opting for shorter lengths initially and gradually increasing the size as you adjust. While long nails can look stunning, they may feel quite uncomfortable if you're not accustomed to that length.

If you have very short nail beds, we do not recommend long nails because of the unnecessary pressure and weight being put to the nail beds.

HOW TO SIZE

Inglass Nails sizing swatches are not nail extensions; they are made from soft builder gel and feature a notably flexible and thin design. This flexibility allows you to determine if a swatch is too small, as it will deform, while the ultra-thin edges may pinch your skin if the swatch is too large.

The goal of these swatches is to cover the widest part of your natural nail, though they might not fit perfectly around the cuticle area. For example, if your natural nail is narrow near the cuticle but flares out towards the tip, the swatches should still cover the widest section of your nail plate, whether that area is located in the middle or towards the end of your nails. We will adjust the cuticle area once we receive your photos (for hands only; toenail extensions will need to be manually filed by you).

To size your natural nails or toenails:

Start with a complete manicure, ensuring that you push back and clean your cuticles so your natural nail plates are free from polish and any skin buildup. This step is crucial before measuring, as skipping will lead to inaccurate sizing.

To find the nail swatch that fits your natural nail, the swatch should completely cover the widest part of your nail without exposing any of your natural nail or overlapping your skin. If the swatch changes shape, it indicates it is too small, while if it pinches your skin, it suggests the swatch is too large.

For the pinch test, hold the nail swatch with your index finger while using your thumb and middle finger to bring the skin near the nail folds closer to the swatch; it shouldn't pinch if it’s the correct size. For the distortion test, apply gentle pressure to the swatch while it’s on your nail; if it loses its shape, the swatch is too small.

After finding the perfect nail swatch, verify your fit by trying both the sizes that come before and after it. For example, if size 8 fits well, try size 7 for a smaller fit and size 9 for a larger one.

Remarks

Remember to size both hands, as their measurements may differ.

Write your sizing numbers on the sizing chart. You can either upload a photo or write them down at the time of your purchase.

If you encounter any difficulties in finding the right nail swatch, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance.

Kindly note that Inglass Nails is not responsible for incorrect sizing.

HOW TO ORDER

As a first-time customer, we kindly ask for two things: your sizes and photos of both your hands without any nail polish. The photos help us customize the cuticle area of your nail extensions as well as the length. To provide your sizes, you can either type them in or upload a picture of your sizing chart when prompted. Rest assured, you only need to send us your sizes and bare hand photos once, as we will securely store this information for future orders. For any subsequent orders, you will be classified as a returning customer.

We may contact you if we need clarification or have questions regarding your order. We will wait to hear from for two business days, if no response is given we will move on with your order as is.

Our standard processing time is between 3 to 12 business days, but you have the option to upgrade to priority processing for a quicker turnaround of 1 to 2 business days.

Standard shipping is provided via UPS, with delivery expected within 1 to 3 business days. However, if your order includes flammable items like our base coat, it will be shipped via UPS Ground, taking 1 to 5 business days.

If you need your order sooner, you can choose the UPS Next Day Air option at checkout, provided the base coat is not part of your order.

HOW TO APPLY

To kick things off, we must emphasize that prepping the natural nail is the most crucial part of the application process. The two key actions you need to focus on are dehydrating and cleansing using the nail wipes or the prep dehydrator, and etching the nail with the white prep wooden file. Steer clear of using the orange buffer or the black finishing file for this etching step.

Etching, unlike filing, does not thin the nail plate; it simply creates a textured surface, similar to applying a primer. To properly etch the natural nails, lightly run the file over the nail surface in a single direction, avoiding any back-and-forth motions.

Also, we manually etch the nail extensions in the underside, so you don’t have to prep them.

With that established, let’s dive into the complete instructions for applying nail extensions.

Our nail extensions cannot be soaked off and must be removed using our specialized Debonder for proper removal.

HOW TO REMOVE

Nail Extension Removal Guidelines

Base coat applied over the entire natural nail: Remove at 1 week.

Base coat applied 1mm away from the cuticle, sidewalls, and free edge: Remove at 2 weeks.

Base coat applied 2mm away from the cuticle, sidewalls, and free edge: Remove at 3 weeks.

Base coat applied only to the center of the natural nail: Remove at 4 weeks.

Important: Wearing extensions beyond these recommended timeframes can stress your natural nails and increase the risk of lifting and infection.

How to remove

Cover your work area with a towel to avoid any damage from accidental Debonder spillage.

Remove one nail extension at a time. Gently rub oil (you may use step no. 6) into the skin around your natural nails. We also advise to use our Good Wax bath before removing a set since it creates a protective barrier in your skin.

The nail extensions have a very thin cuticle area, always position the tool parallel to the skin to prevent any harm to the reusable nail extensions.

When removing the nails extensions, avoid using too much force to protect your natural nails from any potential harm.

You must remove one nail extension at a time.

Start by applying the Debonder to the sidewalls and cuticle. Using the cuticle and extensions remover stick, gently and carefully slide the pointed end along the sidewalls and around the cuticle area to create an entry point for the Debonder to penetrate deeper into the nail extension.

Always position the tool parallel to the skin to prevent any harm to the reusable nail extensions.

Reapply the Debonder. Once you have found an entry area continue to add the Debonder through it until the nail extension comes off easily.

Avoid forcibly removing the nail extension; instead, apply the debonder until the extension comes off completely to prevent harming your natural nails. Pulling or yanking at the extension can lead to damage. The debonder works by dissolving the bonder through contact, so refrain from using excessive force.

Proper removal should take less than a minute per nail and will not cause any harm.

Once the removal process is complete, apply the debonder to your natural nails, taking care to treat one nail at a time. Allow the debonder to sit on each nail for a few seconds. To remove it, take a cleansing wipe and firmly cleanse the area using circular motions.

If after removal you are left with a dry residue on your skin flake it off or remove it with a towel. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap after removal.

If there are remnants of the bonder left on your nails, apply more debonder, let it sit, and then gently scrape it off with a wooden stick.

Caution

If you're a frequent visitor to the nail salon and find yourself in an urgent situation that leads you to use our nail extension system, please remember to remove the extensions before going back to your salon. Our nail extensions cannot be soaked off and must be removed using our specialized Debonder for proper removal.

HOW TO REAPPLY

Successfully removing the nail extensions requires patience and should not harm the natural nail. Your natural nails won't be damaged if you follow the correct prepping and removal process.

If there is any minimal damage, it typically arises from one of two reasons: improper removal techniques or injury from accidentally bumping the nails, which is often an issue with longer nails.

In cases of more significant damage, it is usually due to hasty removal methods, such as forcibly ripping off the extensions.

After the nail extensions are removed, your natural nails should have a micro-scratched surface if prep was completed beforehand. The new nail growth should be smooth and shiny.

Occasionally, residue from the bonder or base coat may remain on the natural nail after removal. If you notice any residue, apply the Debonder, let it sit, and gently scrape off the residue using the detacher or orange wood stick included in your kit. If the residue proves stubborn and the surface of it remains shiny or smooth, simply dull the shine with the orange buffer without touching the natural nail, then proceed with your application.

How to reapply

When reapplying a fresh set of nail extensions, follow the same procedures outlined in the pro application guidelines.

The only change you'll implement is in the prep process.

When reapplying, the prep for your natural nails remains largely the same, but etching should be limited to the new natural nail growth. There's no need to etch areas that have already been treated unless they appear shiny and lack micro scratches. If lacking shine, gently use the grittier side of the orange buffer and buff off the natural nail. Always avoid going over the same area multiple times.

Always ensure that you thoroughly dehydrate and cleanse with the wipe; a properly dehydrated natural nail will have a noticeably dry finish.

Additionally, if you’re using the Spa kit, be sure to complete steps 1, 3, 4, and 5 before starting the removal of the previous nail extension set. Step 2 is best completed after the extensions are removed, and step 6 must always be the last one after applying the nail extensions.

HOW TO REUSE

Our nail extensions (excluding toenail extensions) are made for multiple uses. If this feels like a hassle or if you prefer not to reuse them, feel free to skip this part.

Always clean the nail extensions before storing them with alcohol or a little bit of acetone.

To remove the bonder residue from the back of the nail extensions:

Lay a towel over the workspace. Wear gloves during this process.

Clean up one nail extension at a time! Begin by filling the well of the nail extension with our Deresiduer, ensuring that all bonded areas are fully covered.

Afterward, carefully use the tip of the bottle to scrape away the gummy residue. If needed, repeat the previous steps.

After the Bonder has been removed, wash the nail extensions on soapy water, dry them with a towel, and use alcohol to further get rid of any contaminants.

Do not leave the Deresiduer on the nail extensions for longer than 5 minutes.

Do not use a metal tool on the nail extensions.

It is recommended to clean up the nail extensions right after removal and before storing them away.

NAIL EXTENSIONS CARE

Taking proper care of your nail extensions is essential. Here are our top tips to ensure their longevity:

- Avoid bending the nail extensions forcefully.

- Do not file your extensions (toenails excluded).

- Use gloves while performing household chores.

- Steer clear of metal tools on the nail extensions.

- Refrain from filing the nail extensions, as this can compromise their seal (note: this does not apply to our toenail extensions).

- Do not use your nails as tools.

- If using cuticle oil do not apply directly to the cuticles.

FINAL REMARKS

Before starting the sizing process, make sure to complete a full manicure.

Your size swatch should entirely cover the widest part of your nail, ensuring no natural nail is visible and that there is no overlap with your skin.

When applying, removing, or cleaning nail extensions, always protect your work surface with a towel to prevent spills.

Prepping the natural nail is critical for a successful application and involves dehydrating and cleansing with the nail wipes or the prep dehydrator, along with gently etching the natural nail using a white prep wooden file.

Etching, unlike filing doesn't thin out the nail plate, etching just creates texture, so think of it as a primer. Also, we manually etch the nail extensions in the underside, so you don’t have to prep them.

For proper adhesion when bonding, always hold each nail extension in place for at least 30 seconds.

Remove the nail extensions at the four-weeks mark or as soon as you notice any signs of lifting, whichever happens first.

For removal, take off one nail extension at a time.

WARNINGS!

Do Not apply Inglass Nails extensions over natural nails that are broken, damaged, or show signs of suspicious discoloration or bacterial infection.

Applying our nail extensions to broken or infected nails can trap moisture and bacteria, potentially worsening the infection and making it harder to treat.

The application processes can further weaken already compromised nails, increasing the risk of breakage, splitting, and other damage.

Discoloration can be a sign of a fungal or bacterial infection or even other health conditions. Inglass Nails extensions are designed to adhere to a healthy, clean nail surface. Damaged or infected nails may not allow for proper adhesion, leading to lifting, chipping, and a shorter lifespan for the nail extensions.

Please, treat any infections or address the damage before considering Inglass Nails extensions. Consult with a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment if you have concerns about your nail health. And lastly, give your natural nails time to heal and strengthen before applying our nail extensions.

INGLASS NAILS DISCLAIMERS

Our nail extensions are created using hard gels, a non-porous material. Please note that “hard gel” refers to the type of product used, not the overall feel or thickness of the nails. Our extensions are carefully sculpted to remain thin and flexible near the cuticle area, gradually building strength and thickness toward the tip for durability and a natural look.

The design of our nail extensions has transformed significantly over time. While the thickness of the nails can differ based on the chosen nail art and length. Please be aware that some product images may not yet reflect these recent updates.

Kindly note that Inglass Nails is not responsible for incorrect sizing. Customers are responsible for choosing the correct size. Refunds will not be issued based on sizing issues, as it is the customer's responsibility to ensure the correct nail size is selected.

Since Inglass Nails reusable nail extensions are handmade, slight variations may be present; no two nails are the same. Furthermore, imperfections such as air bubbles, glitters, and tiny dust particles may be present.

The apex might also be more defined in some nail designs than in others. Structurally, the thickness of the nails might also vary based on the designs. Additionally, nail art may vary based on length.

Kindly understand that screens and lighting can affect the colors pictured; thus, actual colors may vary depending on the lighting.

Please note that improper use of our reusable nail extension system may lead to damage of the nails. It’s essential to follow all product instructions, as Inglass Nails cannot be held responsible for any damage that occurs while in your care.

To ensure the best results, nail extensions must be applied without any gaps or bubbles. Any of these two can result in lifting, which if neglected, may lead to bacterial infections. Inglass Nails cannot accept liability for any improper application.

The nail extensions must be removed at the four weeks mark. Extending wear beyond this period can put stress on your natural nails, and possible infections if there is any lifting.

The responsibility for safely removing the nail extensions lies with you. When done correctly, the removal process will not harm your natural nails. Inglass Nails cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by rushed or improper removal techniques.

If you're a frequent visitor to the nail salon and find yourself in an urgent situation that leads you to use our nail extension system, please remember to remove the extensions before going back to your salon. Our nail extensions cannot be soaked off and must be removed using our specialized Debonder for proper removal.

A HEALTHY & CLEAN MANI / PEDI

Achieving a clean and healthy manicure and pedicure hinges on proper cuticle care.

It’s important to avoid techniques resembling a Russian manicure, as these will remove away the protective seal of the nail plate, leaving it vulnerable to allergens, irritants, and infections. Using an e-file or performing deep dry manicures will lead to skin abrasions.

It's essential to distinguish between the cuticle and the eponychium—the latter is often mistakenly identified as the cuticle. The cuticle, a thin and translucent membrane adhering to the nail plate, is what can cause lifting and a less polished appearance. It can be easily managed by gently pushing it back.

If you notice overgrown eponychium, trim it slightly with cuticle scissors or nippers, being careful not to cut too much.

To achieve a pristine manicure, all you need is a good hydrating cuticle product, and we highly recommend our Silky Rose Balm from our Spa kit.
