frequently asked questions
Inglass Nails Basics
Are Inglass Nails extensions easy to apply?
Absolutely! Our nail extensions are designed for easy application and removal. Like any new skill, it may take some practice and patience to master the technique. However, it's much simpler and quicker than doing your nails on your own.
Will Inglass Nails extensions harm my natural nails?
Generally, no! Your natural nails won't be damaged if you follow the correct prepping and removal process.
Our system relies on your skill and attention to detail, so we trust you to adhere to our guidelines.
How long can I wear Inglass Nails extensions?
For those just starting out, we suggest removing the extensions after two weeks, unless you’re confident in your prepping and Bonder application (ensuring full coverage without bubbles or gaps). Leaving the extensions on for more than two weeks can increase the risk of bacterial infections if any lifting occurs due to incorrect application.
Ultimately, the duration you choose to wear your nail extensions is up to you. We encourage you to assess longevity based on our recommendations, as it can vary based on your preparation, application, and lifestyle. If you don't mind the look of outgrown nails, you might be okay removing them after four weeks.
Will Inglass Nails extensions come off easily?
It depends! If you've completed the prep correctly, the extensions will stay put until you remove them.
However, if you skip the prep and apply our Base Coat to the entire nail plate before using the Bonder, the extensions may only last about a week.
This flexibility is part of what makes our nail extension system so adaptable.
How durable are Inglass Nails compared to acrylics or gel x nails?
Inglass Nails are handmade entirely from hard builder gel, which is non-porous and acetone resistant, offering superior strength and durability.
We do not use acrylics or nail tips in our extensions.
What are Inglass Nails made of?
Our nail extensions are made out of hard gels and hard builder gels.
What nail brands do you use to create Inglass Nails extensions?
We use Akzentz, Light Elegance, and other Korean and Japanese nail brands such as Kokoist.
Why are Inglass Nails so expensive?
Our prices reflect the level of craftsmanship, quality, and materials. For more details concerning our prices, please visit our Prices page.
Can I reuse Inglass Nails?
Yes, indeed! Our system was designed with reusability in mind, so feel free to use them as many times as you'd like.
Can I file or trim the nail extensions for a better fit?
Our nail extensions are custom-filed at the cuticle area for optimal shaping and fitting based on the photos you provide during your initial purchase. Therefore, filing or trimming is unnecessary and not recommended, as this can disrupt our finishing seal.
Is glue included in the package?
New customers will automatically receive the Bonder, Debonder, and Base Coat free of charge with their initial order.
Do I need any professional tools to apply them?
Every set of our nail or toenail extensions comes with complimentary disposable tools designed for easy application, removal, and reapplication of the nails.
Can the nail extensions trigger allergic reactions?
The nail extensions themselves are not allergenic. We have various protocols to ensure the nail extensions are fully cured and free of any inhibition layer before they are packaged.
Our nail extension system isn’t UV. Moreover our products are free from Hema and major allergens.
However, we can't guarantee a completely allergy-free experience.
Are Inglass Nails suitable for all nail types?
Not quite! Our nail extension system is not suitable for very flat nail beds or those with a deep C-curve.
Can Inglass Nails be used on short or brittle nails?
Yes, they can! For very short or brittle nails, we recommend sticking to extra-extra short or extra short lengths, as anything longer may lead to issues.
However, Inglass Nails extensions cannot be applied over natural nails that are broken, damaged, or show signs of suspicious discoloration or bacterial infection. Please, treat any infections or address the damage before considering Inglass Nails extensions.
Are Inglass Nails suitable for special occasions or everyday wear?
One of the standout features of our system is its versatility. With the combination of our base coat and Bonder, you can wear the nail extensions for over four weeks or just under one week—it's entirely your choice. Handmade with hard builder gel, Inglass Nails are designed for daily use and can be reused.
Do they feel heavy or bulky?
They feel like hard gel overlay, not heavy or bulky at all but they don't feel like your typical gel manicure. They have a very thin cuticle area and then gradually increase in thickness towards the tip. The design of our nail extensions has transformed significantly over time. While the thickness of the nails can differ based on the chosen nail art and length, please be aware that some product images may not yet reflect these recent updates.
